Flames Rumors: Calgary Shopping Yet Another Defenseman

The Calgary Flames have reportedly made defenseman Nikita Zadorov available for trade.

Despite his popularity among fans and his contributions on the ice, the Flames are open to parting ways with the imposing 6-foot-6 blueliner.

While Zadorov brings size, physicality, and a booming slapshot to the team, concerns have been raised about his slower reaction time and defensive lapses.

Additionally, his contract, which carries a cap hit of $3.75 million per season, could potentially become a financial burden for the Flames, especially considering upcoming contracts for other key players.

This past season, the 28-year-old recorded 14 goals and 21 points across 82 games played, with a plus/minus rating of +10.

With the Flames aiming to strengthen their roster and potentially shed salary, Zadorov's name has emerged in trade discussions, with the Toronto Maple Leafs popping up as possible trade partners.
