Dallas Stars Re-Sign Former First-Round Pick

The Dallas Stars have re-signed Ty Dellandrea to a one-year, $900,000 contract.

Dellandrea was selected by the Stars with the 13th overall pick of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. The 22-year-old is viewed as having a good amount of potential, and he just completed his first full season with the NHL squad. Appearing in 82 games, the 6-foot-1 forward posted nine goals, 28 points, and a plus-9 rating He also made an impact with his physicality, recording 125 hits. 

Overall, this past season was a step in the right direction for Dellandrea, and he will be aiming to build off of it in 2023-24. It would be great for him to make a bigger impact offensively, as he has the tools to do so. 

On paper, this appears to be a good signing for the Stars, as $900,000 is easily affordable. It will be intriguing to see what Dellandrea does this upcoming for Dallas from here. After all, he is a clear breakout candidate for them.
