Ducks Rumors: John Gibson Connected to Metropolitan Team

The New Jersey Devils have performed below expectations so far this season, and a primary reason behind that is their inconsistent goaltending. Because of that, there has been a ton of speculation that they will look to add a goalie this season. In a recent article for The Athletic, Jesse Granger brought up the prospect of the New Jersey Devils pursuing Anaheim Ducks goalie John Gibson this season.

Gibson has been connected to the Devils before, as they were one of the clubs in the sweepstakes this past summer. Yet, when noting that their goaltending has been among the worst in the NHL this season, now may be the time for them to step up their efforts to bring in a high-impact goalie like Gibson.

Gibson is having a nice bounce-back season with the Devils, and it is likely that he would have more success with a much stronger Devils blue line in front of him.

We will now need to wait and see if the Devils end up landing Gibson during this season from here.
