Sabres: 3 Top Trade Candidates Heading Into 2024

Christmas is over, and now the new year is less than one week away. Thus, over these next few days, we here at NHL Trade Rumors will discuss the three top trade candidates from each team heading into 2024.

In this latest edition of the series, the Buffalo Sabres will be the team of discussion.

Erik Johnson: Erik Johnson has struggled since becoming a Sabre. When noting that he only signed a one-year deal, it is quite possible that Buffalo will deal him at the deadline. This is especially so if the Sabres are unable to climb back up in the standings.

Victor Olofsson: The Sabres aggressively shopped Victor Olofsson during the offseason but were unable to find any takers. However, that could change at the deadline but especially if the Sabres are open to retaining a portion of the winger's salary.

Tyson Jost: Tyson Jost is another pending UFA who could attract some interest from playoff teams looking to add some depth to their forward group. He is a solid bottom-six forward when playing at his best and chips in offensively.
