Sabres Key Forward Set to Miss Time

The Buffalo Sabres will be down a key forward for at least a week, as they have placed winger Jeff Skinner on injured reserve.

Skinner suffered an upper-body injury last night (Dec. 13), and now we have confirmation that he will be forced to miss time. This is not ideal news for the Sabres, as they are trying to get back into the playoff race. Losing one of their best forwards certainly does not make things easier on that front.

Skinner, 31, has appeared in 30 games this season, where he has 12 goals to go along with 10 assists. Overall, it has been another solid season for the veteran forward from an offensive standpoint, and now the Sabres will need to try to keep their offense up with Skinner out.

With Skinner injured, the Sabres have called up Brett Murray from the Rochester Americans.
