Minnesota Wild Front Office Under Investigation

The Minnesota Wild are a mess and there's frankly no other way to put it. Underperforming on the ice, there's been a series of interesting events off the ice and now the team is making headlines for all the wrong reasons.

It's being reported in The Athletic via Michael Russo and Joe Smith that on the heels of assistant GM Chris O'Hearn being dismissed, it's come to fruition there's multiple investigations into Wild executives ongoing from an outside firm commissioned by the organization.

What we know about what led to this is this: In recent weeks, there have been two investigations into the Wild front office. Members of the team’s hockey support staff, hockey operations department and business staff began being interviewed regarding the second one by two attorneys Dec. 1 after the team returned from a road game in Nashville.

O’Hearn was not the subject of that latter investigation, and it’s unknown the specific nature of any allegations against him. It appears that the first investigation just happened to conclude at the same time the second one was being conducted.

Who knows what's really going on in Minnesota, but one thing's for sure it's not good. The team is 10-12-4 on the season and are on the outside looking in at the Stanley Cup Playoff picture in the west. If things don't turn around, and fast, nobody on the roster is safe.
