Senators: 3 Top Trade Candidates Heading Into 2024

Christmas is over, and now the new year is less than one week away. Thus, over these next few days, we here at NHL Trade Rumors will discuss the three top trade candidates from each team heading into 2024.

In this latest edition of the series, we will take a look at the Ottawa Senators. After heading into the season with the expectation of finally being a playoff team again, they have struggled mightily and appear to be set to being sellers yet again this season.

Vladimir Tarasenko: With the Sens struggling this season, pending unrestricted free agent Vladimir Tarasenko will be a player to watch in trade talk in 2024. He is a star who playoff teams will be all over if he is made available, and the Sens could get a good return for him because of it.

Dominik Kubalik: Dominik Kubalik's time as a Senator could be coming to a close soon, as he is a pending unrestricted free agent. Teams looking for some scoring help in their bottom six are likely to consider adding Kubalik, as he is a consistent 20-goal threat and fairly affordable to go along with that.

Jakob Chychrun: The Senators could also consider the prospect of moving Jakob Chychrun if they opt to sell. He will be a UFA after next season and if he is not open to an extension due to the Senators' failure to improve, he may be a player who they listen to offers to.
