4 NHL Teams Showing Interest In KHL Star

Another KHL star appears to be interested in heading over to North America and the NHL next season and four teams seem to be interested in signing him. Maxim Tsyplakov is just 25 years old and continues to get better in the KHL, showing off his strong offensive abilities this season especially.

Through 48 games this season, he has 22 goals and 32 points. This already eclipses his goals and point totals from any other season he's played in the KHL to date. I think expectations should be lower for Tsyplakov than they were for the last high valued player to come over to the NHL from the KHL, Andrei Kuzmenko. Tsyplakov plays for Moscow Spartak, not St. Petersburg SKA or CSKA Moscow like Kuzmenko.

The four teams that are showing interest in Tsyplakov are the Toronto Maple Leafs, Boston Bruins, Arizona Coyotes, and Detroit Red Wings. He will be signing a one-year entry-level deal and then go from there. While the Maple Leafs and Bruins are strapped for cap space and are contenders looking for a strong and cheap addition, the Coyotes and Red Wings are looking for that boost to help propel them into a playoff spot. I expect even more teams to start showing interest if it becomes clear Tsyplakov wants to come to North America. He could be a very nice addition for any team that lands him.
