Blackhawks Place Forward On Injured Reserve

The injury bug is continuing to bite the Chicago Blackhawks, as the Original Six club has placed forward Anthony Beauvillier on injured reserve. The skilled forward has suffered a wrist injury and will now need to miss at least a week of action due to this IR placement.

This is the second roster move that the Blackhawks have made today, as they claimed defenseman Jaycob Megna off of waivers from the Seattle Kraken.

Beauvillier was acquired by the Blackhawks earlier this season from the Vancouver Canucks. So far, he has had mixed results with his new team, as he has six points to go along with a minus-3 rating in 15 games. For his standards, that kind of production is low, and now he will need to miss some time before getting the chance to pick up his play again.

Beauvillier has had a down year in general, too, as he has just four goals to go along with 14 points in 37 games. Normally, he produces a bit more, and it will be interesting to see if he does just that as the season rolls on and he returns.

Beauvillier is one of the Blackhawks' top trade candidates heading into the deadline, as he is a pending unrestricted free agent and could make for a decent rental addition to a playoff team if he regains his form. We will need to wait and see if he can do just that once he gets back into action.
