Blue Jackets Rumors: Forward Becoming Trade Candidate

After an offseason of spending, the Columbus Blue Jackets are still among the worst teams in the NHL. This naturally means that they will be big-time sellers at the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline, and players like Adam Boqvist, Elvis Merzlikins, and Andrew Peeke have come up in the rumor mill because of it. However, another Blue Jacket is starting to generate some trade buzz, as forward Jack Roslovic is a player to watch over these next several weeks.

Roslovic is a pending unrestricted free agent (UFA) who should get attention from teams looking to add to their middle six before the trade deadline passes. This is especially so if the Blue Jackets are open to the idea of retaining half of his salary. In this case, his trade value would improve, as he would an easily affordable addition.

Roslovic has appeared in 19 games for the Blue Jackets this season, where he has two goals to go along with nine points. He was sidelined for a good portion of the season but recently returned to action. As a result of this, he is now a player to pay very close attention to. If he starts heating up now that he is healthy, he will only improve his trade value.

We will now need to wait and see where Roslovic ends up getting moved from here. Teams needing help at center or right wing are sure to consider him.
