NHL Rumors: Lightning & Predators Becoming Potential Trade Partners

The Tampa Bay Lightning are gearing up to be big buyers at the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline, and it is understandable given their high expectations. One area that they are aiming to improve is the right side of their defensive group. The Nashville Predators, on the other hand, have been shopping Tyson Barrie for quite some time, as the fit between the team and the player has not been there. Due to this, the Bolts and Predators are starting to stand out as potential trade partners.

Barrie would benefit from a change of scenery, and the Lightning stand out as a strong landing spot for him. This is because Barrie would have the chance to play with superstars like Nikita Kucherov, Steven Stamkos, and Brayden Point. This, in turn, could lead to Barrie's points going up, as he would have far stronger offensive weapons to work with.

When looking at the Lightning's roster, it is clear that Barrie would be a nice fit on the Lightning's second pairing if acquired. With that, he would be a major addition to their power play and give them another quarterback to work with on it. As a result, this could be an avenue that the Lightning look to go down over the next several weeks.

The Predators are unlikely to demand too much for Barrie at this point, as he has been on the trade block for quite some time. Due to this, don't be surprised if the Lightning make a major push to land him from here.
