Blue Jackets Rumors: Forward Named Top Trade Candidate

After a busy offseason, the Columbus Blue Jackets are one of the worst teams in the NHL yet again this season. Because of this, it is quite easy to see that they will be sellers at the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline.

The Blue Jackets have a variety of trade candidates heading to the deadline, which include Elvis Merzlikins, Andrew Peeke, Jake Bean, and Alexandre Texier. However, according to The Athletic's Aaron Portzline, Jack Roslovic is the most likely Blue Jacket who will be traded.

Here is what Portzline had to say regarding Roslovic's potential as a trade candidate: "Roslovic’s name has percolated in trade talks for the past couple of seasons, but it’s never made more sense."

Portzline also noted that the emergence of several Blue Jackets forwards in their top nine could also make Roslovic expendable.

Roslovic, 27, has appeared in 26 games this season, where he has two goals and 10 points. For his standards, it has been a down year, and he has also been scratched by the club. Because of this, a change of scenery may benefit him at this point.

Teams looking for a bit more production in their bottom six could consider making a push for Roslovic over these next few weeks. We will need to wait and see what happens with him from here.
