Flames Rumors: 2 Potential Landing Spots for Jacob Markstrom

The Calgary Flames are expected to be sellers at the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline, and one name who has been coming up in the rumor mill because of this is goaltender Jacob Markstrom. If the Flames officially shop Markstrom over these next several weeks leading up to the deadline, there are going to plenty of teams looking to add him. Due to this, let's go over three specific clubs who could look to bring him in now.

Carolina Hurricanes: The Carolina Hurricanes have had serious trouble in the crease this season and are likely to bring in another goalie before the deadline passes because of it. If they want to make a huge splash and bring in a legitimate number-one goalie, Markstrom will be one of their best options, so don't be surprised if they are in the mix.

New Jersey Devils: The New Jersey Devils are another team to pay very close attention when it comes to Markstrom. Their goaltending has been inconsistent this season, and they would benefit by bringing in a new starting goaltender because of it. Markstrom would be a great answer for their troubles, so they are certainly a team to watch from here.

We will now need to wait and see if either of these two clubs lands Markstrom before the trade deadline passes from here. The Edmonton Oilers are another team with goalie troubles, but the Flames would very likely avoid a move with them, as they are big rivals.
