Flames Rumors: 5 Teams Linked to Elias Lindholm

Elias Lindholm is one of the top trade candidates as we inch closer to the trade deadline. As a result, he is generating plenty of interest, as the Colorado Avalanche, Boston Bruins, Winnipeg Jets, Carolina Hurricanes, and Washington Capitals are all linked to the Calgary Flames center, according to The Fourth Period.

Lindholm is expected to be dealt, as he is a pending unrestricted free agent, and contract extension talks between him and the Flames have fizzled out. Due to this, it is understandable that these five clubs are all eyeing him.

The Avalanche and Bruins have been the two main teams connected to Lindholm all season, as they desperately need a top-six center. However, the Jets, Hurricanes, and Capitals all would benefit from adding him to their top six, too. Furthermore, his elite two-way play only adds to his overall value.

In 36 games this season with the Flames, Lindholm has eight goals, 23 points, and a minus-3 rating. It has been a bit of a down season for him, but he has the potential to heat up before the season is over.

As we get closer to the deadline, we should expect more teams to express interest in Lindholm, as he is one of the top rental forwards on the market and has a fairly affordable cap hit. We will need to wait and see if any of these five clubs land him before the deadline passes from here.
