LA Kings Rumors: Young Forward Becoming Trade Candidate

The Los Angeles Kings have been struggling mightily as of late, winning just one out of their last 10 games. Due to this, one naturally has to wonder if they are going to make some changes to their roster before the trade deadline passes. In a recent episode of The Jeff Marek Show, Elliotte Friedman brought up the possibility of the Kings moving forward, Arthur Kaliyev.

Here is what Friedman said on the matter: "You know who I am wondering about here is Kaliyev. That's a guy I am kind of wondering about right now. He's not playing. It looks like this year they found a really nice niche spot for him, but he hasn't been playing lately, so I wonder what his future there is."

Kaliyev, 22, has been healthy scratched by the Kings multiple times this season. In 35 games on the season, he has six goals to go along with 14 points. Overall, it has been a bit of a down year for the young forward, as he had 28 points in 56 games just last season.

If Kaliyev was officially shopped by the Kings, there would certainly be interest in him. This is because he is a young forward with good upside who has produced well at the NHL level in the past.

If the Kings want to make a big splash before the deadline, it would not be too surprising to see Kaliyev be one of the main pieces sent the other way. We will need to wait and see if that does in fact happen from here.
