Stars Rumors: 2 Forwards Viewed as Trade Candidates

The Dallas Stars are having an excellent 2023-24 season. They currently sport a 30-13-6 record and are third in the Western Conference standings. Because of this fact, there is no question that they will be buyers at the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline.

However, the Stars also have limited cap space to work, so they may be forced to move out some salary if they hope to bring in upgrades. Because of this, in a recent article for The Athletic, Saad Yousuf listed Evgenii Dadonov and Radek Faksa are the two Stars players most likely to be traded before the deadline passes.

Dadonov, 34, has been having a solid season for the Stars while playing on their fourth line. In 47 games on the season, he has 10 goals to go along with 21 points. As a result of this, moving on from him could be viewed as a bit risky, but if it means freeing up enough cap space to bring in a high-impact player, it would be worth consideration.

Faksa, on the other hand, has been no stranger to the rumor mill over these last few seasons. It has primarily been because of his high cap hit and limited offensive production. In 42 games this season, he has three goals and 10 points. While he has not been dominating the league offensively, there could still be interest in him, as he is known for his solid defensive play and ability to kill penalties.

We will need to wait and see if either of these two players get moved before the deadline passes from here.
