Capitals Rumors: Max Pacioretty to Rangers Heating Up

Washington Capitals forward Max Pacioretty is one of the top trade targets still looking for his new home. He has been generating interest from several clubs, and it ultimately makes sense, given his plethora of experience.
According to the New York Post's Larry Brooks, he was told that Pacioretty being traded to the New York Rangers is a " 'real possibility' from someone who would know."

It is important to note that Pacioretty has a complete say over if and where he gets traded, as he has a full no-movement clause (NMC). At this juncture, he has not officially committed to doing that.

The Florida Panthers were rumored to be his preferred destination, but they also just added forward Kyle Okposo from the Buffalo Sabres, so the expectation is that they are out of the Pacioretty sweepstakes.

We will need to wait and and see if the Rangers end up landing Pacioretty, but it is something to watch extremely closely from here.
