Coyotes Rumors: 3 Contract Extension Candidates

The 2024 NHL Trade Deadline saw several teams make moves, and the league looks far different now because of it. However, now that the deadline has passed, we won’t see any more trades until after the season. Although this is the case, we still could see teams sign players to contract extensions. As a result, we here at NHLTR will be going over three contract extension candidates from each team.

In this final edition of the series, we will be looking at the Arizona Coyotes.

Sean Durzi: Sean Durzi has been an excellent addition to the Coyotes' roster, and it is a no-brainer that he will receive a contract extension from them. He has provided strong offense to go along with steady defense on their blue line, so expect the pending RFA to remain in Arizona.

J.J. Moser: Another notable pending RFA defenseman on the Coyotes' roster who will be getting another contract from the club is J.J. Moser. He has emerged as an important part of the Coyotes' roster, and his next contract is very likely to reflect that.

Barrett Hayton: It has been a tough season for Barrett Hayton, but he is another Coyotes player who will be getting a new contract from the club. He posted a career-high 43 points just last season and has the potential to become a strong top-six forward at the NHL level. Expect him to land a bridge deal because of it.
