Devils' Tyler Toffoli Trade Incoming, Canucks Involved

New Jersey Devils GM Tom Fitzgerald was rather pissed off with some of the reports earlier this week on how he was 'shopping' Tyler Toffoli. Fitzgerald reiterated there was no shopping involved, but one thing he didn't do was deny Toffoli would be traded. Turns out the interest level is through the roof and Toffoli is essentially a goner.

Insert the Vancouver Canucks. A team looking to make another move as Jim Rutherford/Patrik Allvin are never shy to make bold transactions. They've reportedly been shopping Elias Lindholm and were in talks with the Boston Bruins regarding the recently acquired Lindholm, and there could be some substance to a three-way deal involving the Devils should Toffoli end up in Vancouver. The LA Kings and Vegas Golden Knights have also made offers.

The veteran winger is a pending free agent making $4.25 million against the cap and he does not have any trade protection. The Devils are still chasing a playoff spot but there could be some interest in cashing in on Toffoli considering how high the interest is. It will be curious to see if its picks and prospects heading to New Jersey, or if this will be about re-tooling on the fly and giving the Devils a chance to make the playoffs this season.

Toffoli has recorded 26 goals and 44 points in 61 games this season and comes with a decorated resumes including a Stanley Cup ring and 44 points in 88 postseason games.

Here's the very latest on the Toffoli market:
