Ducks Rumors: 3 Contract Extension Candidates

The 2024 NHL Trade Deadline saw several teams make moves, and the league looks far different now because of it. However, now that the deadline has passed, we won’t see any more trades until after the season. Although this is the case, we still could see teams sign players to contract extensions. As a result, we here at NHLTR will be going over three contract extension candidates from each team.

In this latest edition of the series, we will focus on the Anaheim Ducks.

Urho Vaakanainen: Urho Vaakanainen is one Ducks player who could land a contract extension before the season is over. The young defenseman has been having a solid season with the Ducks and is showing signs of improvement. As a result, the Ducks could look to get him signed to his next deal before the summer is here.

Max Jones: Max Jones is another Ducks player who could get a new contract before the campaign is over. The gritty winger has been quite impactful when it comes to his physicality, as he has 122 hits in 48 games. Along with that, he is producing in a bottom-six role, as he has five goals and 14 points on the season.

Ben Meyers: The Ducks added Ben Meyers before the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline passed. He is a pending UFA Group 6 candidate, and the Ducks could look to keep him around to avoid the possibility of losing him during the summer. He has decent upside, so it would not be surprising if he got a new deal before the summer.
