Golden Knights Rumors: 3 Contract Extension Candidates

The 2024 NHL Trade Deadline saw several teams make moves, and the league looks far different now because of it. However, now that the deadline has passed, we won’t see any more trades until after the season. Although this is the case, we still could see teams sign players to contract extensions. As a result, we here at NHLTR will be going over three contract extension candidates from each team.

The Vegas Golden Knights will be the team discussed in this latest edition.

Jonathan Marchessault: The Golden Knights have a big pending UFA in Jonathan Marchessault. He is one of the biggest figures in the history of their franchise and is due for a raise on his next deal. When noting that he is one of their top player and a huge part of their offense, he is absolutely somebody who they could extend before the season is over.

Noah Hanifin: The Golden Knights made a major splash this week when they acquired Noah Hanifin from the Calgary Flames. He is going to be a big addition to their blue line as they look to go on another playoff run this spring. However, when noting that Hanifin is a star and they gave up a lot to get him, Vegas will surely look to get him signed to an extension.

Chandler Stephenson: The Golden Knights have another notable pending UFA in Chandler Stephenson who is due for his next contract. He has been nothing but effective since joining Vegas, so he could be in line for a multi-year extension.
