Hurricanes Rumors: 3 Offseason Suitors for Brady Skjei

Brady Skjei is one of the top pending UFA defensemen who could hit the market this offseason. This is because he is a solid top-four defensemen who is dependable defensively and chips in offensively. Due to this, if the Carolina Hurricanes cannot get him re-signed or elect to let him walk, he will receive plenty of interest in free agency. Let's go over a few teams who could consider targeting him in that scenario now.

Calgary Flames: The Calgary Flames are expected to be buyers during the offseason. While they sold off many of their pending UFAs at the deadline, they are not looking to rebuild. After trading Noah Hanifin, the left side of their defense needs help, and Skjei would give them just that.

Detroit Red Wings: The Detroit Red Wings have many pending UFAs and could look to add to their roster this offseason because of it. Bringing in a solid defenseman like Skjei would help solidify their top four. He would also work on both their power play and penalty kill if signed.

Chicago Blackhawks: The Chicago Blackhawks may be rebuilding, but there is a general expectation that they will look to add to their roster this offseason. They have a lot of money to work with and need help on their blue line, so Skjei could be a player that stands out to them this summer if available.
