Jets Rumors: 3 Contract Extension Candidates

The 2024 NHL Trade Deadline saw several teams make moves, and the league looks far different now because of it. However, now that the deadline has passed, we won’t see any more trades until after the season. Although this is the case, we still could see teams sign players to contract extensions. As a result, we here at NHLTR will be going over three contract extension candidates from each team.

Let's get this series started with the Winnipeg Jets.

Dylan DeMelo: Dylan DeMelo is a clear extension candidate for the Jets. He is a big part of their blue line because of his steady defensive play and impressive penalty-kill ability. Thus, the Jets are likely to try to keep him around.

Sean Monahan: Sean Monahan has been a great fit for the Jets since they added him from the Montreal Canadiens. Due to this, he certainly could land a new contract with the club before the season is over. He works well in their top six and is effective on the power play.

Tyler Toffoli: The Jets made a big move at the deadline, acquiring Tyler Toffoli from the New Jersey Devils. When noting that he is one of the top pending UFAs heading into the summer, the Jets could surely look to extend him before the season is over if he proves to be a fit in their system.
