Maple Leafs Get Calle Jarnkrok Back From The LTIR
The Toronto Maple Leafs have been without forward Calle Jarnkrok for the past 13 games. He has been on the LTIR (long-term injured reserve) after suffering a hand injury at the end of January.
Jarnkrok should be back in the lineup for the Maple Leafs' game against the New York Rangers, per head coach Sheldon Keefe, and he will likely join John Tavares and Bobby McMann on the third line. Jarnkrok is capable of playing all three positions, so don't expect him to stay here for the remainder of the season.
This return to action could change the deadline plans for the Maple Leafs a little bit as they may not feel the need to add more depth up front if Jarnkrok is in the lineup. The 32-year-old has played 40 games this season and scored 10 goals and 19 points. He is also a plus-13 on the season and logs over 15 minutes a night contributing on the power play and penalty kill.
The Maple Leafs will have to make a move and send someone down to the AHL to be cap compliant after activating Jarnkrok.
