Senators Rumors: 3 Free Agents to Target This Offseason

Welcome to NHL Trade Rumors' 2024 Free-Agent Targets series. During it, we will be discussing three pending unrestricted free agents that each team should aim to sign.

In this first installment of the series, we will take a look at the Ottawa Senators. With the Sens having another brutal season, they are expected to be active this offseason.

Brandon Montour: With the Senators needing help on the right side of their defense, it would not be surprising at all if they make a push for Brandon Montour if he hits the market. He is the top right-shot defenseman heading into the offseason, and he would provide their top four with a notable boost if signed.

Jonathan Marchessault: After trading Vladimir Tarasenko to the Florida Panthers before the deadline, they are likely to look to add a sniper this offseason. As a result, Jonathan Marchessault could be a player they look at if he hits the market. He would be a major addition to their top six and power play if signed.

Sam Lafferty: The Senators' bottom six could use more secondary scoring and grit, so Sam Lafferty could be a nice addition to their roster. He also offers excellent versatility, as he can play all three forward positions.
