Senators Rumors: Latest on Vladimir Tarasenko's Market

Ottawa Senators forward Vladimir Tarasenko is one of the top trade targets heading into the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline. The expectation is that the Senators will be moving him by March 8, as he is a pending unrestricted free agent (UFA), and their playoff hopes are crushed.

As a result of this, in a recent article for The Athletic, NHL insider Pierre LeBrun reported that the Carolina Hurricanes and Vegas Golden Knights are among the top teams interested in acquiring Tarasenko at this juncture.

Tarasenko has been connected to the Hurricanes in the past. They, of course, tried to sign him during this past offseason, and they have had him on their radar this campaign. As a result, it is not surprising in the slightest that they are once again one of the top suitors trying to land Tarasenko with the trade deadline rapidly approaching.

As for the Golden Knights, they just made a big splash last night (March 5), acquiring Anthony Mantha from the Washington Capitals. However, the expectation is that they are not done just yet, and bringing in Tarasenko to their top six would be big for their upcoming playoff run.

We will need to wait and see if either of these two clubs land Tarasenko over the next two days from here.
