Ducks Sign Top Prospect Cutter Gauthier to ELC

The Anaheim Ducks have made a notable move, as they have signed top prospect Cutter Gauthier to a three-year, entry-level contract.

The Ducks acquired Gauthier from the Philadelphia Flyers earlier this season in exchange for Jamie Drsydale and a 2025 second-round pick. Gauthier made it clear that he did not want to play for the Flyers, and the Ducks were quick to snatch him up because of it. Now, with this entry-level contract signed, he can officially begin his professional career.

Gauthier, 20, has spent each of the last two seasons with Boston College. After posting 16 goals and 37 points in 32 games as a freshman, he followed that up with 38 goals and 65 points in 41 games. The 2022 fifth-overall pick is clearly ready for the NHL and should have an incredibly bright future from here.

Gauthier is expected to become a core player for the Ducks, as he has all the tools to become a very impactful top-six forward at the NHL level. Because of this, getting him signed to this entry-level deal is massive for the Ducks.

We will now need to wait and see how much of an impact he makes for the Ducks from here.
