Sharks Rumors: Mikael Granlund Becoming Trade Candidate

The San Jose Sharks are in the middle of a major rebuild. Because of this, they finished this season at the bottom of the NHL standings. They are preparing to make more changes to their group over the offseason, and one could involve their top scorer.

After being traded to the Sharks this past offseason, Mikael Granlund had a magnificent bounce-back season. Because of this, his trade value has skyrocketed, and the Sharks could very well look to take advantage of that this summer.

Granlund should certainly garner interest around the league, as he showed this season that he still has the potential to contribute like a top-six forward. In 69 games this season with the Sharks, the 32-year-old forward had 12 goals to go along with 60 points. It was simply a big year for the veteran, and he could get plenty of attention from teams looking for help down the middle because of it.

We will now need to wait and see what the Sharks decide to do with Granlund from here. While he was a great fit for them in his first season with the club, he could be exactly the kind of veteran to part ways with to land a big return for the future.
