Flames Rumors: Latest on Oliver Kylington's Future in Calgary

Oliver Kylington is one of the Calgary Flames' top free agents heading into the 2024 NHL Offseason. If the Flames do not agree on a new deal with Kylington before July 1, he will have the chance to test the market as an unrestricted free agent.

However, if the Flames have it their way, Kylington won't hit the market. According to NHL insider David Pagnotta, the Flames are "preparing an offer" for the left-shot defenseman.

Kylington, 27, appeared in 33 games this season with the Flames, where he had three goals, eight points, 51 blocks, and a minus-6 rating. After missing the entirety of the 2022-23 season, the Stockholm native was solid for the Flames this campaign. As a result, it makes sense that they are open to the prospect of re-signing him.

It has already been established that Kylington is interested in re-signing with the Flames as well, so there certainly seems to be a good chance that he will stick around. However, it will now come down to the numbers.

In 201 career NHL games with the Flames, Kylington has 17 goals, 55 points, and a plus-24 rating. We will need to wait and see if he ends up building on those career stats as a member of the Flames next season from here.
