Jets Rumors: Cole Perfetti Generating Trade Interest

After a disappointing playoff run, the Winnipeg Jets have some big decisions to make this summer. It is clear that some notable changes could be on the way because of it.

According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, Jets forward Cole Perfetti has been picking up a lot of steam in the rumor mill as of late.

Here is what Pagnotta said about the prospect of Perfetti being a trade candidate: "I’ve mentioned Cole Perfetti a couple of times lately, and his name continues to pop up in discussions with various people across the NHL. Teams are curious as to Winnipeg’s plans for him and will inquire about his availability after his minimal usage in the playoffs. He can become an RFA in July."

If Perfetti is made available, there is no question that he will have an array of suitors. The 2020 first-round pick has all the tools to become an impactful top-six forward in the NHL and has already shown good promise. This season was another strong campaign for him, as he set new career highs with 19 goals and 38 points.

While Perfetti had a good regular season, he only played in one out of the Jets' five playoff games. As Pagnotta noted, this could get the attention of clubs.

We will now need to wait and see what happens with Perfetti from here. The Jets do not need to move the youngster, but if he can get them a player who will help them immediately, it may be something worth considering.
