Canucks Rumors: 3 Free-Agent Destinations for Nikita Zadorov

Nikita Zadorov is one of the top defensemen who can hit the free agent market this offseason. Reports have surfaced that negotiations between the hard-hitting defenseman and Canucks are not looking too good right now. As a result, let’s discuss three teams who could target him if he becomes available on July 1.

Toronto Maple Leafs: The Toronto Maple Leafs were heavily connected to Zadorov before his trade to the Canucks. They need to improve their blueline if they hope to be a real threat next year, so they could look to bring in Zadorov again. They would benefit from his immense toughness and grit as well.

Boston Bruins: The Boston Bruins are likely to look to add a left-shot defenseman this offseason. Both Matt Grzelcyk and Derek Forbort won’t be back next season, so they need some help on their left side. They have been linked to Zadorov before, and he would give their blueline a bit more bite, which is needed.

New Jersey Devils: The New Jersey Devils have also been connected to Zadorov, as they tried to land him this season. While adding a goalie is their top priority, the left side of their defense needs a boost as well. They also need more toughness, especially with Matt Rempe being on the New York Rangers.
