Kings Rumors: 3 Offseason Suitors for Matt Roy

Matt Roy is one of the top defensemen who could hit the free agent market this offseason. It is understandable, as he is a right-shot defenseman who plays a steady defensive game and can handle top-four minutes. Because of this, let's go over three teams who could look to sign him this summer.

Los Angeles Kings: Given how important of a piece Roy has been for the Kings for the last several seasons, it is possible that they could bring him back. Losing him on their blueline would be tough for the Kings, as he is their top shutdown defenseman. However, he is also due for a big raise, so the Kings have a decision to make.

Toronto Maple Leafs: The Toronto Maple Leafs stand out as a prime club that could look to sign Roy this offseason if he hits the market. They desperately need a top-four right-shot defenseman who plays a dependable game and kills penalties. Thus, the Leafs should be watched.

Dallas Stars: The Dallas Stars are another notable club to watch when it comes to Roy. Their right side could use another impactful defenseman, and Roy would give them that. This will be an even bigger need if they cannot come to terms on a new deal with Chris Tanev this offseason.
