Canucks To Name Two-Time Stanley Cup Winner As New Head Coach

Adam Foote, Vancouver Canucks coach
The Vancouver Canucks have narrowed down their head coaching search to one man and they will name Adam Foote the new head coach. The former two-time Stanley Cup winner has served as the assistant coach in Vancouver for the past three seasons, but has just one year of head coaching experience with the Kelowna Rockets of the WHL in 2019-20.

Foote coached the Rockets to a positive win-loss record in his one year there and has gotten to know the players and organization in Vancouver over the past three seasons as an assistant coach.

He had a long and successful career as a player from 1991 to 2011 when he retired from the NHL with 1154 games, 308 points, and two seasons where he received votes for the Norris Trophy.

With Rick Tocchet moving on from being the head coach of the Canucks a little bit ago, the team was relatively quick to find their new man behind the bench for next season. Vancouver will be looking for more stability and consistency after failing to make the playoffs following a Pacific Division title and second round appearance.
