Flames Rumors: Rasmus Andersson Has Rumored Suitor On No-Trade List

Calgary Flames defenseman Rasmus Andersson is one of the NHL's top trade candidates heading into the 2025 NHL offseason. The right-shot blueliner is entering the final season of his contract, so all eyes will be on him this summer.

With the Ottawa Senators looking to improve the right side of their defense, they have naturally been connected to Andersson. However, according to Daily Faceoff's Anthony Di Marco, sources informed him that the Senators are on Andersson's six-team no-trade list.

Di Marco writes:

"Checking in with a source close to the Flames Monday afternoon, while I have no doubt the Senators have expressed interest in Andersson, the Swedish defender has the nation’s capital on his modified no-trade clause (six teams), I was told."

Andersson Could Have Been Great Addition For Senators

This is certainly a rough update for the Senators, as Andersson would have been an excellent addition to their blueline. When looking at their roster, he would have greatly improved their top four. Furthermore, he would have a significant pickup for their power play and would have given them another option to consider for their penalty kill.

Andersson, 28, appeared in 81 games this season for the Flames, posting 11 goals and 31 points. In 536 career NHL games split over nine seasons with Calgary, the veteran blueliner has recorded 47 goals, 184 assists, 231 points, 349 hits, and a minus-15 rating.
