Daria Tuboltseva reports that the 26-year-old Comtois has been offered a deal by the Detroit Red Wings and other NHL teams. The Quebec native told the Russian reporter that it's his goal to come back to the best league in the world.
I've always said I want to return to the NHL, and this season I did everything possible to make that happen. Hockey had become just a job for me in North America, but here, it became my passion again... I felt like I got a second wind.
Comtois recorded 21 goals and 29 assists for 50 points in 62 regular-season games with Dynamo Moscow of the KHL, and stepped it up even further in the playoffs, with 13 points in 15 games.

Max Comtois has reportedly been offered a contract by the Red Wings & others
He began his NHL career in 2018 with an auspicious debut, scoring a goal in the very first minute of play in his debut for the Ducks. He broke through as a full-timer a couple of years later, and actually led Anaheim in scoring in the shortened 2020-21 season with 16 goals and 33 points in 55 games.
But he wasn't able to build on that, and finished with single-digit goal totals in each of the next two seasons. He was acquired by the Carolina Hurricanes in 2023, but got into only one game at the NHL level, spending the rest of the season with the Chicago Wolves of the AHL.
Aside from the Red Wings, one of the other teams that Comtois is said to have an offer from, though it's unconfirmed, is the Boston Bruins. Dynamo Moscow is also said to have made him an offer to return to Russia next season.
