NHL Rumors: 3 Potential Free-Agent Destinations For Andrei Kuzmenko
The 2024-25 season was a wild ride for forward Andrei Kuzmenko. The 29-year-old started the season with the Calgary Flames and was traded to the Philadelphia Flyers. Then, after just seven games in Philly, he was traded again to the Los Angeles Kings. The move to LA did Kuzmenko wonders, as he had 17 points in 22 regular-season games and six points in six playoff games.
Given how Kuzmenko finished this season, he should generate a good amount of interest if the Kings cannot re-sign him by July 1. Thus, let's look at three teams who could look to sign him if he becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer.
Chicago Blackhawks
The Blackhawks need more offense if they hope to take a step forward this season, so a player like Kuzmenko could grab their attention. When looking at their roster, he could be a nice fit in their top six and would be a clear option for their power play because of his offensive skill.
Minnesota Wild
It should be a busy summer for the Wild, as it is clear that they need to strengthen their forward group. Bringing in a skilled winger like Kuzmenko to their middle six could help things on that front, as he would give them more secondary scoring.
Columbus Blue Jackets
The Blue Jackets could be a team to watch when it comes to Kuzmenko. When looking at their roster, it is fair to say that they could use another impactful winger, and Kuzmenko is just that when playing at his best. He could work nicely anywhere in their top nine if signed.
