NHL Rumors: 3 Potential Free-Agent Destinations For Ryan Lindgren
Ryan Lindgren will become an unrestricted free agent on July 1 if the Colorado Avalanche do not re-sign him. The left-shot defenseman had a bit of a shaky 2024-25 season, but there should still be plenty of interest in him because he is a solid top-four shutdown blueliner when playing at his best.
Due to this, let's look at three teams who could look to sign Lindgren this offseason.
Los Angeles Kings
The Kings could be a team to watch if Lindgren hits the market, especially if they end up losing fellow left-shot defensive defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov in free agency. If the Kings signed Lindgren, he would be a potential fit in their top four and would also be a clear option for their penalty kill.
Columbus Blue Jackets
The Blue Jackets could use a solid stay-at-home defenseman in their top four, so a player like Lindgren could make a lot of sense for them. They also have cap space to work with, so he could be a nice pickup for a Blue Jackets team looking to get back into the playoffs.
Detroit Red Wings
The Red Wings could be another team to keep an eye on if Lindgren becomes a free agent this summer. The left side of their defense could use some work, and bringing in a player like Lindgren could help things on that front. He would offer them a potential upgrade over Ben Chiarot on their second pairing if signed.
