NHL Rumors: 3 Potential Free-Agent Destinations For Vladislav Gavrikov
Los Angeles Kings defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov is one of the most notable blueliners who can become an unrestricted free agent on July 1. Teams looking for a big and steady defenseman will surely have him on their radar. This is especially when noting that he posted five goals, 30 points, and a plus-26 rating in 82 games this season.
If the Kings are unable to re-sign Gavrikov and he hits the free-agent market, expect these three teams to be in the mix.
Ottawa Senators
The Senators could be a team to watch when it comes to Gavrikov. They would benefit by adding a reliable defensive defenseman, and bringing in a player like Gavrikov would give them just that. His ability to play both sides could make him a very nice fit in their top four if signed.
Detroit Red Wings
The Red Wings certainly should look to strengthen the left side of their defense this offseason, and Gavrikov could be on the radar this offseason because of it. He could work beautifully on the Red Wings' top pairing with Moritz Seider and give them another solid veteran to mentor their younger players as they look to take that next step.
Colorado Avalanche
After a tough first-round exit, the Avalanche could look to improve their defensive group this offseason. If they signed Gavrikov, he could be an option for their second pairing and give them another choice to work with on their penalty kill. He also has playoff experience, which could make him an appealing target to a team with high expectations like Colorado.
