NHL Rumors: 3 Potential Free-Agent Destinations For Brandon Tanev
Brandon Tanev is one of the Winnipeg Jets' notable pending unrestricted free agents heading into the summer. The Jets could look to re-sign him, but if they do not and he becomes a free agent on July 1, he should generate a lot of interest. Due to this, let's discuss three teams who could look to sign him this summer now.
Toronto Maple Leafs
It would not be surprising if the Maple Leafs made a push for Tanev this off-season. Their bottom six could use a makeover, especially after another disappointing postseason. Bringing in a veteran like Tanev for their fourth line and penalty kill could be good because of it. Brandon would also likely love the chance to play with his brother, Chris Tanev, in Toronto.
Vegas Golden Knights
The Golden Knights value hard-nosed forwards, so a player like Tanev could grab their attention this off-season. He would have the potential to provide their bottom six with a nice boost this summer. In addition, Tanev having a decent amount of playoff experience could make him appealing to a team that always has high expectations like Vegas.
Tampa Bay Lightning
The Lightning also could be a team to watch in the Tanev sweepstakes. Their bottom six could use some help, and bringing in a veteran like Tanev would give them just that. Furthermore, he would also offer them another solid option for their penalty kill and more overall grit.
