NHL Rumors: 3 Potential Trade Desinations For Sabres' Bowen Byram

Buffalo Sabres defenseman Bowen Byram generated plenty of buzz in the rumor mill leading up to the 2025 NHL trade deadline, but a move did not occur. Yet, questions about Byram's future in Buffalo are starting to come again with the summer rapidly approaching. Because of this, let's discuss three teams who could look to acquire Byram this summer.

San Jose Sharks

The Sharks should be looking to improve their blueline this offseason as they aim to take that next step. Bringing in a defenseman like Byram would undoubtedly do just that, as he would instantly become their No. 1 defenseman and somebody to build their blueline around. At 23 years old, he is also still plenty young enough to fit well in a rebuild.

Detroit Red Wings

The Red Wings could be a team to watch closely in the Byram sweepstakes this offseason. It is no question that they could use some serious help on the left side of their defense, and bringing in a player like Byram would do just that. He could form a strong top pairing with Moritz Seider and also work nicely on their power play if acquired.

Columbus Blue Jackets

The Blue Jackets should have themselves a busy offseason, and one area they may focus on is their defense. Bringing in Byram would give their top four a significant boost, as the left-shot defenseman provides solid offense and steady defense. In addition, he could fit in perfectly on a team on the rise like Columbus.
