NHL Rumors: 3 Potential Free-Agent Destinations For Joel Armia

Joel Armia, Montreal Canadiens

Montreal Canadiens forward Joel Armia is a pending unrestricted free agent and will hit the market on July 1 if the Original Six club does not re-sign him by then. The 31-year-old winger had a solid season for the Habs, posting 11 goals, 29 points, and 87 hits in 81 games.

With this, Armia should generate a good amount of interest if the Canadiens do not re-sign him. Thus, let's discuss three teams who could look to sign the 11-year veteran.

Colorado Avalanche

The Avalanche could be a team to watch if Armia hits the free-agent market this off-season. Their bottom six could use a boost, and this will be even more the case if players like Joel Kiviranta and Jimmy Vesey walk this summer. Armia would give the Avs another solid option for their bottom six who has plenty of playoff experience.

New Jersey Devils

The Devils are going to focus on improving their bottom six this summer. It is a clear weak point on their roster, and bringing in an experienced forward like Armia could be a step in the right direction for them. He could slot nicely on their fourth line and would also give them another solid option for their penalty kill.

Los Angeles Kings

The Kings could be a team to watch when it comes to Armia. They could use more depth at right wing, and Armia's solid two-way play could make him a solid fit on their third line with Warren Foegele and Phillip Danault.
