NHL Rumors: 3 Potential Free-Agent Destinations For Brock Nelson

Brock Nelson, Colorado Avalanche

Brock Nelson is one of the top forwards who can hit the free-agent market on July 1. The Colorado Avalanche will likely aim to keep Nelson around, but if they can't come to terms with him on a new deal and he hits the market, look for these three teams to target him.

Minnesota Wild

The Wild have long been linked to Nelson, and it is very likely they will make a serious push for him this summer. They need help down the middle big time, and bringing in Nelson would give them exactly that. Furthermore, the 33-year-old is a Minnesota native, so he would likely love the chance to play for the Wild.

Columbus Blue Jackets

The Blue Jackets are another team to keep an eye on when it comes to Nelson. They could use another high-impact forward on their roster as they look to take that next step and get back into the playoffs. If they signed Nelson, he would be a nice fit in their top six and on their power play.

Detroit Red Wings

The Red Wings' forward group could use a boost this summer, and Nelson would give them just that. When looking at their roster, he could slot nicely as their second-line center and would also give them another veteran to help mentor their younger players.
