NHL Rumors: 3 Potential Off-Season Suitors For Brandon Saad
The Vegas Golden Knights should be in for a busy summer after losing in the second round to the Edmonton Oilers in just five games. They have some decisions to make with their roster, including whether or not they will be bringing back forward Brandon Saad.
If Saad hits the free-agent market on July 1, there should be interest in him. Let's discuss three teams who could look to add him now.
New Jersey Devils
The Devils were linked to Saad before he signed with the Golden Knights this season, and it would not be surprising at all if New Jersey targeted him again. Their forward group needs a makeover, and Saad could be a nice addition to their top nine because of it.
Tampa Bay Lightning
The Lightning were also connected to Saad this campaign, and they could use a player like him. It is clear that their secondary scoring needs a boost, and Saad could give them just that. When looking for a specific spot for him in Tampa Bay's lineup, he could slot nicely on their third line with Gage Goncalves and Nick Paul.
Washington Capitals
The Capitals could look to add another forward to their top nine this offseason, and Saad would be an excellent choice. Saad's playoff experience could make him an appealing target for the Capitals, especially when noting that he has two Stanley Cups on his resume. In addition, he would give them another solid option to consider for their power play.
