NHL Free Agency: Nikolaj Ehlers to test market, 5 teams linked
The Winnipeg Jets are expecting forward Nikolaj Ehlers to test the free-agent market on July 1. General manager Kevin Cheveldayoff has been busy trying to get a deal done before free agency, but to this point there's been no advancement on contract talks, and they'll likely be losing the speedy winger to the highest bidder next week.

Door not closed on Manitoba, but will test the market
Ehlers scored 24 goals and 63 points in 69 games last season. He averaged 15:47 of ice-time per game, and has been knocked for being a one-dimensional player, who relies on his speed and skill to create offence, however, has some flaws on the defensive side of the puck,
As far as interest goes, there's going to be plenty. Ehlers is expected to hear from a number of teams including the Columbus Blue Jackets, Anaheim Ducks, New Jersey Devils, Los Angeles Kings, and Carolina Hurricanes.
Ehlers was involved in trade talks throughout last season, as the Jets have been trying to get a deal done for quite some time, however, have been far apart when it comes to the type of money they've been offering.
Along with Mitch Marner and Brad Marchand, Ehlers is one of the best offensive players on the market, and it looks like his days in Winnipeg are numbered.
