5 Teams Trying to Sign Marc-Andre Fleury
The NHL goaltending market is very thin right now, with several teams trying to upgrade in their crease. There's been several trades including the likes of John Gibson, Daniil Tarasov, and Petr Mrazek, however there's one future hall-of-famer, who just recently unofficially retired, but that hasn't stopped clubs from reaching out.
Marc-Andre Fleury has reportedly heard from five teams looking to sign him since the free-agent market opened, offering one-year deals for him to battle it out for their starting goaltending position. The Edmonton Oilers are 100% one of the teams, meanwhile the others at this point, are unknown.
Fleury, who turns 41 in November, went 14-9-1 last season for the Minnesota Wild. He doesn't appear, at least for now, to be interested in playing hockey next season and essentially has already been sent off into the sunset. He wrapped up his playing days on Team Canada at the World Championships, and one of the only reasons he played was the chance to get to play with Sidney Crosby one last time.
