NHL Rumors: 3 Trade Destinations For Sharks' Mario Ferraro

The San Jose Sharks have added multiple defensemen this off-season, as they have brought in Nick Leddy, John Klingberg, and Dmitry Orlov. Due to this, they now have a surplus of blueliners, and defenseman Mario Ferraro is one Shark who has been floating around the rumor mill as a trade candidate.

Because of this, let's look at three teams who could look to acquire Ferraro now.

Winnipeg Jets

When looking at the Jets' current roster, it is fair to say that they could use another left-shot defenseman. As a result of this, they could be a good landing spot for Ferraro. If they acquired Ferraro from the Sharks, he could slot nicely on their second pairing and would be an obvious option for their penalty kill.

Columbus Blue Jackets

The Blue Jackets could be another team to keep an eye on when it comes to Ferraro. They could use another solid option for the left side of their defense, and bringing in Ferraro would give them just that. The Blue Jackets also have a lot of cap space to work with, so they could easily afford to bring in Ferraro.

Calgary Flames

The Flames took a nice step in the right direction this season, and they will be looking to build off that in 2025-26. However, when looking at their roster, there is no question that they need another left-shot defenseman in their top four. Because of this, it would make a lot of sense for them to make a serious push for Ferraro to improve their blueline.
