NHL Rumors: 3 Free-Agent Destinations For Joel Kiviranta
After setting new career highs with 16 goals, seven assists, and 23 points in 79 games with the Colorado Avalanche last season, Joel Kiviranta is still an unrestricted free agent (UFA) at this juncture of the summer. However, with how well he played last season, he should be able to find a new home before the season is here.
Because of this, let's look at three teams who could sign him this summer.
Calgary Flames
The Flames could be a team to watch when it comes to Kiviranta. It is fair to argue that they could use another forward in their bottom six, and Kiviranta could be a good fit on their roster because of it. On a short-term deal. he could be a nice addition to a Flames team looking to get back into the playoffs.
New York Rangers
Kiviranta could be a solid addition to the Rangers' roster if signed. They could use more scoring in their bottom six, and Kiviranta demonstrated this season that he can provide just that. When looking at their roster, he could slot nicely on their fourth line but also could be a candidate for third-line minutes, too.
Tampa Bay Lightning
The Lightning would benefit from adding another bottom-six forward to their roster before the season is here. Due to this, a player like Kiviranta could grab their attention. On a cheap one-year deal, he could be a solid addition to a Lightning club that could use a bit more depth.
