NHL Trade Rumors: 5 Potential Trade Destinations for Flames' Nazem Kadri

The Nazem Kadri trade rumors have been running wild this summer, as it's been out there that Calgary Flames general manager Craig Conroy has had multiple conversations regarding the veteran centre.

The latest report comes from Sportsnet's Ryan Dixon, who has listed out five potential landing spots for the 34-year-old centre. Kadri posted 35 goals and 67 points in 82 games last season, and has four years left on his contract at $7 million AAV.

Kadri has a full no-movement clause until next July, then that decreases to a 13-team no-trade clause. To this point, there's been nothing confirmed that Conroy has approached Kadri about waiving his no-movement clause.

Here's some of the very latest from Dixon, who feels there's a decent shot Kadri ends up getting moved eventually by the Flames:
Montreal Canadiens: The Habs entered the off-season with a throbbing need at 2C and have been linked to just about any player who could possibly fill that hole.

New Jersey Devils : New Jersey needs some nasty. The Devils have two great centres in Jack Hughes and Nico Hischier, the latter of whom is a fantastic two-way player.

Carolina Hurricanes: The Canes bolstered the flank by signing winger Nikolaj Ehlers in free agency, but Carolina could still use help down the middle. Kadri would slot in perfectly behind top-line pivot Sebastian Aho and ahead of big 3C Jordan Staal.

Colorado Avalanche: Get the band back together? Basically, the Avs won the 2022 title, then lost captain Gabriel Landeskog to a knee injury for three years and watched Kadri walk out the door that summer as a UFA.
And of course, the last team was the Maple Leafs, but that ship has likely sailed.
