Penguins Trade Rumors: Pittsburgh Trying to Move Noel Accairi

The Pittsburgh Penguins continue to be open for business. Trade talks have swarmed several of their players including Bryan Rust, Rickard Rakell, Erik Karlsson, Ryan Graves, and depth forward Noel Acciari.

Acciari is entering the final season of his contract and plays a role for the Penguins as a depth versatile forward who can play on either wing, or down the middle. Acciari knows his role, he checks well, works hard along the wall, and isn't afraid to sacrifice his body on the penalty kill to block a shot.

The Penguins are going to have several teams interested as we creep through the summer. Contending teams looking to build more competition among their bottom six for training camp will take a flyer on Accairi, who is a veteran and gives their coach a predictable bottom-six piece.

David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period has Acciari listed on his trade board and had this to report:

Acciari is in the final year of his contract and owns an 8-team no-trade list. The Penguins are open for business and having added some bottom-six forwards already via free agency, Acciari’s time in Pittsburgh may be coming to an end.

Acciari's appeared in 518 career NHL games, scoring 68 goals and 119 points. Acciari also has 65 games of Stanley Cup Playoff experience to his name, and has chipped in with nine points. Any team inquiring about his services know they don't include high-end goal scoring. Acciari is a checking forward who understand the assignment, and if he can stay healthy, is effective at his job.
