Ranked: Top 10 NHL Fowards Under Age 25 — Glaring Omission Noted

Connor Bedard is on NHL.com's list of the Top 10 Forwards Under Age 25

NHL.com has come up with a list ranking the Top 10 forwards in the league under the age of 25. But one team's fans will be quick to blast the list for the omission of their 23-year-old star winger. See if you can spot the omission:

The former No. 3 overall pick Tim Stutzle of the Ottawa Senators tops the list. Adam Kimelman of NHL.com cites Stutzle being one of just 21 players in the League to record at least 70 points for three straight seasons.

The only thing seemingly costing the New Jersey Devils' Jack Hughes a spot at the very top of the ranking are his frequent trips to Injured Reserve. He's played in just 251 of 328 possible games over the last four years, but when he does play, it's electric, as he is just one of 11 players in the league—currently at any age—to average 1.10 points-per-game for the past four straight seasons.

Two No. 1 overall picks can be found on the list, not surprisingly, in Bedard and Celebrini. And the Toronto Maple Leafs get a youngster on a list like this for the first time in several years, with Matthew Knies taking the 8th spot.

But did you catch the glaring omission? The Detroit Red Wings and their fans certainly did:

Just on the basis of age-23 or younger players alone, Lucas Raymond is second in the entire NHL in career points, second only to Stutzle, and far ahead of others on the NHL.com list, including Jarvis and Johnston. And while we're at it, fans of the Utah Mammoth (and perhaps the Buffalo Sabres?) might be upset not to see JJ Peterka's name on this list as well.

There will always be those who feel snubbed when lists like this are compiled, so have at it, and let us know if there's anyone else you think should be on that Top 10 at Under 25, or how the rankings could be improved.
